This weekend I got to take photos of Liam and his mommy and daddy for his third birthday. Three years. Where has the time gone? I remember taking his baby pictures, with my two-month old in tow. And now, in the blink of an eye, he’s three. She’s three. It’s a bit crazy. We took…
Daddy asked, and Mommy said yes. That was the theme of the engagement photos today for Bekah and Brent, who wanted to incorporate their almost-2-year old daughter into the photos.
Darla is a great friend of mine, and several years ago we started a tradition of taking photos of her and her family right around her birthday. The very first year she was pregnant, and we took photos at her home and nearby Silver Lake….
I read a posing guide somewhere once that basically said the one rule for posing toddlers was to not try to pose toddlers. Why? Because it’s basically impossible. That was very much the case with Liam this year.
Earlier this week we had a quick glimpse of what spring is always like in the movies. It was rain-free, only mildly chilly, and lots of flowers filled the trees as I drove through town. Of course spring is rarely that wonderful here in the greater Seattle area. Heck – it’s generally miserable throughout most of the Pacific Northwest. But, we had a couple days… so naturally, the photographer in me pounced on the opportunity, and I got everything set up to meet up with Josh for his senior photos. We started off at Jennings Park in Marysville, and then headed into downtown Everett where we were graced with an amazing sunset! Overall, it was a great evening. I wish all guys were as fun to work with!
There’s something magical about a snowflake, so when it started to snow on Saturday, I just knew that I had to talk my bride and groom for the day into going outside to take a couple photos in it. Luckily, Allison and Rob are awesome, and they were more than happy to make a quick dash outside in order to let me capture the magic. There wasn’t anything sticking to the ground, and there wasn’t a ton of snow coming down either… but you can see the flakes kissing their hair and floating through the air, and I love it. It isn’t every day you get a snowy wedding day in Everett, WA!
The last couple weeks Mike and I have been busy participating in a couple local wedding shows. One was at The Manor in Everett, the other was out at Countryside Meadows in Arlington. Both shows had lots of great vendors, and when I had a chance I snuck away from the booth to grab some photos.
This week I managed to find a break in the rain, and worked in a really sweet senior session as the sunlight was getting warm toward the end of the day. Deshaughna, a 2014 Lake Steven’s High School senior, was super fun to work with. That always helps make magic happen. Check out the photos from her session! We even snuck in a picture with her mom.
